Brooks Bandits goaltender Zach Zahara and Bandits forwards Jack Rosensteel and Jack Good have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week, ending May 24.

1st Star – Zach Zahara (G) – Brooks Bandits

Zahara won all three of this starts last week, stopping 104 of 109 shots to post a .954 save percentage and a 1.45 goals-against average, en route to a Rogers BCHL Cup championship.

The Rockyview, Alta. product stopped 36 of 37 shots last Tuesday night in Game 3 of the Finals against the Nanaimo Clippers in a 2-1 overtime win on the road. Back in Nanaimo for Game 4 the following night, Zahara was even busier, stopping 43 of 44 shots, including 15 in overtime alone, in another 2-1 Bandits victory in extra time. He finished his week, and the season, with a 25-save performance in a 4-3 overtime win that sealed the championship for Brooks.

Zahara finished the postseason with a 16-5 record, a 1.95 goals-against average (second-best in the BCHL) and a .928 save percentage (fourth-best in the league). He was named the winner of the Jeff Tambellini Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the Rogers BCHL Playoffs.

2nd Star – Jack Rosensteel (F) – Brooks Bandits

Rosensteel had four points in three games last week, totaling two goals and two assists in a trio of overtime wins.

After assisting on the game-tying goal in the third period of Game 3, the Princeton University commit scored the overtime winner just 2:10 into the extra frame to give the Bandits the win and a 2-1 series lead. Rosensteel then assisted on the overtime winner in Game 4 before getting Brooks on the board with their first of the game in the Bandits Game 5 win that won the series.

The 2006-born forward finished in a tie for fifth in playoff scoring with 17 points in 16 games on nine goals and eight assists.

3rd Star – Jack Good (F) – Brooks Bandits

Good had a goal and two assists in three games last week, including the championship clinching goal in overtime of Game 5.

The Pickering, Ont. native was held off the score sheet in Game 3, then had an assist in Game 4, both of which ended up in 2-1 overtime wins for Brooks. In Game 5, Good assisted on the Bandits tying goal in the second period, before netting the biggest goal of the season on a one-timer from the high slot in overtime to win the title. His goal was the first overtime championship winning goal in the BCHL since 2017.

Despite missing time due to an illness, Good finished his postseason with two goals, 10 assists and 12 points in 13 games.
